Barleans Coconut Oil Give Away

It’s no secret I love coconut oil… all things coconut really.  I’ve posted before about whipped coconut oil, which I love beyond words.  So I felt it was about time that I shared some of my favorite uses for my beloved oil, but also share the love with a coconut oil give away with my absolute favorite brand of coconut oil Barlean’s!  Barlean’s will be our first sponsored give away!  I could not be more excited that my favorite brand of coconut oil is willing to sponsor a give away on my lil’ old blog!

So before we get into those wonderful uses for coconut oil, let me tell you a little about how I came to find Barlean’s brand.  I have been using Barlean’s brand for years.  I first started using their Omega Swirl flax see supplement about 7 years ago when I wanted to add Omega’s to my diet, but didn’t want to do the fish oil caps.  So I found the Omega flax swirl and figured I would give it a try.  Turns out it is crazy yummy, no seriously it’s actually delicious.  You can take it by the spoonful or add it to smoothies.  So then when I decided to continue my adventure into crunchiness I naturally went with the Barlean’s brand.  I have tried other brands, but always come back to them.  I find they maintain the quality and consistency of their products.  Here is some info about their’s coconut oil for “Barlean’s has extended our family to the Philippine Island of Quezon to bring you the absolute best-tasting and most nutritious coconut oil cold pressed fresh for your vibrant health and energy. Our 100% organic, island fresh Extra-Virgin Coconut Oil is hand selected, picked fresh and harvested at the peak of flavor and nutritional value.”

Now that I have chewed your ear off about why I love Barlean’s let’s talk about my top 10 daily uses for coconut oil…

Top 10 uses:

1:  Post partum baby bell… It works great and I will skip the details.

2:  Drooly baby chin… Seriously it stops drool rash in it’s tracks, I have used it for so long with my son that he now points at the jar and goes “coconoot chinny chin”

3: “Pulling” or swishing with coconut oil for dental health… Even post baby my dentist told me my gums looked amazing!

4: Make up remover for those stubborn under eye spots… When I put my makeup on in the morning, I intend for it to stay on through out the day.  But at night even after thoroughly washing my face, I still have black circles under my eyes.  So I dip a Q-tip in coconut oil and it wipe under my eyes and it’s gone!

5: A natural alternative to googone… Have you tried to get the sticker off the bottom of a glass or plate, and find that even if you get the paper off you are still left with a sticky spot?  Rub a little coconut oil on it and wash with soap.  Bam!  Sticky stuff gone!

6: Cooking…  I especially love to use coconut oil when I make waffles.  I always use my coconut almond milk, coconut oil (in lieu of canola or vegetable oil), and a dash of vanilla to make my waffles taste extra yummy and fluffy!

7: Conditioner for the ends of my hair… Just s drop of coconut oil on the ends om my hair before I shower makes for much easier styling.

8: Nipple cream when nursing… This is especially great if you are allergic to wool and can not use lanolin.  I don’t want to be too dramatic and say that coconut oil saved my life, but if you’ve ever been a nursing momma, you get my point!)

9: Scars… I find it especially great early in the healing process, as it protects against candida and keeps the scar from becoming too dry.  I have also found that it helps lighten the scar more quickly.

and finally the most crunchy of my uses…

10: Home made deodorant… Yes seriously I am trying this and it will be a post up on the blog in the coming months.

Now it’s time for the give away!  Barlean’s has been generous enough to provide us with not 1, but 2 coconut oils for our give away!  That means 2 winners!!!!!

  1. Thanks for the giveaway! I love using coconut oil to make massage bars, salt scrubs, bath oils, etc. I also find it’s great to take off residue from other products — like if I use too much Bengay or Capzasin, coconut oil is the only thing that gets it off and relieves the sting/burn.
