Baked Mac & Cheesey… It’s super easy!

Bakes Mac & Cheese

This recipe is one from my mom. Not only is it delicious but it’s easy and suuuuper low cost to make!

Many super markets will wrap the end of the cold cuts and sell them for waaaay less. This includes cheese! There is nothing wrong with the products and since the cheese will be melted pricey slices are not necessary.
Ask the deli counter or search in the near by refrigerator cases!

1) Cook shells as directed on box. Drain and place in oven safe glassware.
2) In sauce pan combine 1/2 cup of milk with 2 tablespoons of flour (to make a rue)
3) Add cubed cheese to rue, stirring constantly until melted and pour over shells and stir in.
4). Next toast bread crumb with butter in sauce pan and add on top of mac & cheese.
5) Finally place in oven at 350 for about 15 minutes.

Not going to eat the dish right after its made? Don’t bake it yet. Store in refrigerator and add a splash if milk in the corners before baking!

  1. such a great tip to not bake it right away, I do the same thing with baked ziti, cook the penne, put on cheese, ricotta and then, extra sauce in corners and bake when we are ready to eat. you can prepare on the weekend and pop it into the oven after work on a weeknight…also now i’m hungry!
